Driving Directions

From the New Jersey Turnpike

If you are traveling on I-280 West, take exit 15W. Take the ML King Blvd exit, exit 14, toward Broad St Sta/Rutgers Univ/NJIT/Essex Co College. Turn right onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Turn right onto Springfield Avenue. Go approximately 0.5 miles and the church is on the left.

From the Garden State Parkway (GSP)

Take Exit 143 toward Irvington/Springfield Avenue. Turn left onto Cleremont Avenue, Cleremont Avenue becomes Ball St. Ball St. becomes Washington Ave. Turn slight right onto Springfield Ave .

By Public Transportation

AMTRAK, PATH, MOST NJ TRANSIT RAIL LINES TO NEWARK PENN STATION

At Penn Station, take the Newark City Subway to the second stop which is Washington Street. Follow signs to the University Avenue entrance to the Essex County College (ECC) campus.

NJ TRANSIT MORRIS & ESSEX RAIL LINE

Get off at Newark (Broad Street). Walk seven blocks south on University Avenue to the ECC campus. You can also take NJ Transit bus #72 or #76, get off on University Ave. at Raymond Boulevard and then walk one block south to ECC.

BUS TRANSPORTATION

More than 30 bus lines from suburban Essex County and other parts of the NJ/NY metropolitan area, including Newark Airport and New York City, come to downtown Newark. Follow signs to University Heights and ECC campus.

Parking

Metropolitan offers secured parking at the main campus parking lot, directly adjacent to the church and our second parking lot adjacent to the Willing Heart Community Care Center. That lot's entrance is located on Mercer Street near the corner of Mercer and Dr. MLK Blvd, on the other side of the Perry's Funeral Home complex. We offer a free shuttle service from the Willing Heart Parking lot to the front door of the church.
